One Surprise After Another...Part 2

To read the first part of the story go here

I went to this appointment by myself not really thinking it was going to be a big deal. I mean, we have done this before so I thought I would just go in, get the ultrasound, walk out with the photo and show Loren when he got home.

It went a little different than planned.

I got in the ultrasound room and laid down while the tech was getting all her equipment together and thought about seeing our new baby for the first time. She finally was ready and started the search for baby. As she's moving it around I can see flashes of baby, but not a clear shot yet. Then I hear her say "Oh, well, um...surprise!", "There are two babies, you're having twins.". I immediately thought it had to be a prank. I was thinking in my head "How did Loren set this one up", it wasn't and after asking the tech about 8 times if she was lying, I started to believe it. I all of a sudden started crying and laughing at the same time. The lady probably thought I was going crazy. I was so scared, shocked, excited, overwhelmed and happy at the same time. I don't think I've ever felt like that before.

After the ultrasound was over, I went outside and called Loren right away. It took me swearing to God about 8 million times and promising I would get mauled by a bear right now if I was lying for him to believe me. He was just as shocked.

Everything cooled down after we called all of our family and friends. The babies are healthy fraternal twins and everything looks fantastic on the inside. The doctor said I will most likely be able to have them both naturally and I should be able to carry them full term. I'm happy that everything has gone good so far and I pray it continues to also. Being pregnant with one is stressful, but with two it's a whole other ballgame.
